WHERE WE BEGUN.
The Kenya Prison Retired Officers Association (KEPROA) is an association of prisons officers who retired honorably from the Kenya Prison Service.
It was a brain-child of rtd. Deputy Commissioner of Prison Mr. Francis G. Makathimo MBS OGW, who is the current National Chairman of (KEPROA). He also got immense support from Mr. Kennedy Aluda SACG who is currently the Liason Officer of KEPROA members in Kenya Prisons Service Headquarters, Nairobi.
Through the help and coodination of his collegues including Mr Ambrose Ngare rtd. ACP, Mrs. Mugure rtd DCP & Mr. Gilbert Omondi Rtd. Commissioner of Prisons.
They were able to construct the KEPROA constitution registerd under the societies Act, CAP. 108 Laws of Kenya (Rev 2009) version.
The membership was open to all Prison Officers who retired honorably after getting concent and approval from the Commissioner General of Prisons Mr. Wycliff Ogallo EGH MBS, to continue with the noble Association.
On the 29th of July year 2020, the Kenya Prisons Retired Officers Association (KEPROA) became a dream come true as they were awarded a Certificate of Registration, from the registrar of societies.
The (KEPROA) team also recieved immense support from National Retired Police Association in Kenya (NARPOK), through benchmarking and advisory.
On 3rd of September year 2020, the Kenya Prisons Retired Officers Association were able to launch the association gracefully at Nairobi West Prison Officers Mess in the presence of Mrs. Omundi SDCG, Mr. Kennedy Aluda SACG & KEPROA Officials together with a representative from (NARPOK).
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Association shall comprise of members who join together to form its Chapters as detailed in Part Four of KEPROA Constitution. The Association shall be managed and administered by the National Executive Committee (NEC). The NEC shall be responsible for policy formulation and direction of the Association,with the oversight support of the Board of Trustees.
The NEC shall consist of the following:-
All members of the NEC shall be required to be active members within the Association.
Members of the NEC shall hold office for a renewable term of three (3) years, or until their successors have been elected and installed.
A member of the NEC shall not hold office for more than two terms.
